One of my all time favourite songs by one of my all time favourite singers - kdl rocks and shmoozes and soothes and hits the spot with her songs, always. A beautiful being with a magnificent voice.

Trippy music
Hiya
A programme on BBC One TV (Imagine – Nigel Kennedy's Polish Adventure) has inspired me to go looking for music with Anna Maria Jopek, a beautiful Polish voice. And I found this fabulous video (Warsaw 2002), with one of my all-time guitar heroes, Pat Metheny, whom I once heard play live when I was in Barcelona in 1981:
By the way, Pat Metheny will be back in Warsaw on 2 July and in Montreux on 7 July 2010.

Fleetwood Mac – Albatross
A blast from the past -- and a gap in my cultural knowledge closed at last:
Don't laugh -- I really never knew the name of this haunting, evocative piece of music until just this morning, when it was played on BBC 4 TV in Guitar Heroes. What a re-discovery!

If I could play the guitar...
... this would be one of the pieces I'd love to be able to play perfectly: Stanley Myers' Cavatina. Click and close your eyes and listen, and then guess where you heard this lovely tune before – now, now, don't peep ...
Guessed right?
Yes, it's the theme of The Deer Hunter, Michael Cimino's 1978 movie. (Thank you, Wikipedia, for these details).
