Busy, busy, busy

Hiya -- no, I'm still around, no worries, and doing great. Just very, very busy all round.

Spent part of last week in the Grisons (Vals -- very hot; totally homesick for Lewis, probably because of all the sparkling gneiss, missing the sea, missing the sea, missing the sea-breeze...); celebrated Swiss national holiday last Wednesday (hot again, great farmer's lunch bang in the middle of Berne city, which was weird and wonderful; followed by only my third trip down to Marzili for a couple of very refreshing swims (water temps of 16-17°C) in the river; from 10:30 PM onwards oohed and aaahed for half an hour at the most spectacular fireworks Berne has ever seen -- the last time they were launched from the top of "our" hill, the Gurten, was sixteen years ago, the hiatus due to a horrendous accident that year, which killed a young girl -- air pollution was absolutely awful, the peak noticeable even on top of Jungfraujoch! -- but it was simply magnificent). Now I'm trying to catch up on all the lost time.

Photos, hopefully, to follow over the weekend.
