Hello again
No, I've still not had time to upload my photos of Vals and elsewhere, process them and then post them here. Perhaps next weekend.
As some of you may know, I got digital TV a little while ago, which means I can watch the old BEEB programmes, BBC World, BBC Prime, BBC One and BBC Two (plus, of course a couple hundred more TV and radio stations, only very few of which I actually ever watch or listen to).
Sometime last week I picked up the following story on the BBC's "Grumpy Old Women" (hilarious, by the way, I was in tears of laughter most of the time -- what a feisty lot us menopausal women can be. Fantastic!).
I thought you might appreciate it as well and I'm sure the BEEB won't mind my reproducing it here -- I'm actually promoting them, aren't I?
Here's the story (not verbatim but it did run roughly like this):
A man is taking down a woman's particulars for a registration form.
"Is it Miss or Mrs?," he asks her.
"Ms," she replies.
"Sorry, what did you say, Miss or Mrs?"
"Ms," she repeats.
"Sorry again, what was that?"
"Ms," she repeats again, adding patiently, "it's a neutral form of address that doesn't give away the woman's marital status."
"Oh, brilliant! They should have this for men, too!"
Have a great day, whoever you are, wherever you are!
