HiyaA public-private initiative has been launched to make Oban plastic-bag free. The initiators were gratified to welcome to the launch meeting Ms Elaine Robertson (Councillor for Health), Ms Terry Donovan (of the forthcoming Environment Fair) and Mr Bob McIllwraith (of ALIenergy), some shop owners, as well as numerous members of the public.
A couple of weeks prior to the launch last Friday, August 29, I joined the committee of this campaign and am hoping to make a difference.
