Hiya again
Some of you know that I've been rather unwell lately. Getting there, slowly, slowly, but my energy level still isn't back to normal. So, after all the exertion of clearing out the old shed; supervising the new shed being put up; and putting all my belongings back into the new shed, I had an early night.
Which was just as well. Because at least I was quite rested when my young neighbour across the landing (or one of her friends) came in falling drunk at 4am. She (or her mates) created quite a commotion, crashing about the close and causing the downstairs' dog to bark. She moved here in October but already I'm heartily sick and tired of her and her crowd...
And before you ask: yes, I did call the police, but asked them not to come out to investigate: the disturbance lasted maybe five, ten minutes. By the time the police would have come round, they themselves would have caused more of a disturbance again. No need for that. But my call has been recorded. Eventually something may be done about that young weekend alcoholic. And I will go and speak to her in the morning -- if I can face her, that is. Oh, the joys of living in what is officially an area of multiple deprivation (some kids call it a "slum" -- I wouldn't go that far)!
