Four-legged musician plays with orchestra

Hiya again
One of my friends in Berne sent me a link to an extraordinary musical event published by the on-line Bernese daily, the Berner Zeitung.
I think I have seen that cat before -- see my post on

But this is taking the whole musical cat business to an entirely different dimension -- and it's hauntingly beautiful.

Click on this YouTube link and enjoy the entire "CatCerto", or click on the link below to be taken to the Berner Zeitung online "article", which has an excerpt from the music.

By the way, the headline, lead and comment published by Berner Zeitung translate as follows:

A Lithuanian ensemble stake their luck on caterwauling: the four-legged accompanist's performance is beamed to a screen behind the orchestra.

The so-called "Catcerto" is a project by Lithuanian composer Mindaugas Piecaitis. The animalistic event premiered in Klaipeda in Lithuania last June.

PS: When I was learning the piano, nearly fifty years ago, in the "dark ages" before video or webcams or the internet, my cat "Mooshi", occasionally played with me. However, she was severely reprimanded and discouraged as we all feared her claws would scratch the ivory keys. Tempora mutantur... :)
