Hello again

Friends in Switzerland have sent me photos from Bern in snow -- looks like the classic winter wonderland, very festive. Never at this time of year, they say, have they seen so much snow. See for yourself:

Here, however, gales drive sheets of rain, curtains of rain, up the glen, contrasts are as good as obliterated, it feels like perpetual dusk. However, I'm snug, for the moment at least, in a warm house. Will have to go out in a minute -- wellies and rainproof gear is indicated.
