Great to see you back here, and great to see a wonderful colleague on one of the biggest US TV shows. My only gripe: why not give us her full name? How patronising, how condescending of Letterman and his writers! And he has to read his introduction of her from his crib sheet, too...

Just saw the Chilean video and thought I'd mention that I went to the
IDFA in Amsterdam on Tuesday (documentary films), where I saw the
film Edificio Chileno. Fascinating story of children of resistance fighters
in the Pinochet years who were sent to a kind of Chilean children's home
in Havana to wait for Pinochet's overthrow in safety. Well worth
watching if you get the chance; the director was there to answer
questions: a young woman who had been brought up there, too. And, of
course, there was an interpreter, whose name we weren't told!
