Drat!

I'm having a sleepless moment -- no, for a change it's got nothing to do with noisy neighbours, at least not directly. Having been woken up in the past at all hours of the night, I do have a problem sleeping right through, so I still blame them... -- the poor s... can't win! ;)
But more importantly, when I have a translation job on, I find it difficult to switch off. And when I have one on the back burner because of other, previous commitments, it's even worse.
So, having woken up to a wonderfully quiet house and the murmuring of the burn at the bottom of the garden coming through a crack in the window, I fetched my laptop to remind myself of what the next job was all about.
Now I find I may have completely misread my brief when I said yes to what I thought was a quick page or so. It may well be that my client wants me to translate a whole website, pages and pages and pages of it! Fun stuff and interesting content, don't get me wrong, but impossible to do by Thursday morning, even if I got started right away.
Well, I've sent them a quick e-mail and hope the rest of the night is as quiet as this has been (since just after midnight, anyhow), so that my mind is fresh.
I do think all the sleepless nights of the past year have left me with a mushed-up brain; I tire very easily and find it really difficult to focus, or to make rational decisions.
Quite a price for a life in the place of my dreams!
