A special wake-up call...

Hiya again

This morning, just after 7, my Swiss mobile phone rang. As most of my clients are based in Switzerland, and as we lag one hour behind that industrious little country, where office hours begin at 8AM, I felt compelled to answer, no matter how addled my brain still was from far too little, and disturbed sleep.
It was a pleasant young chap from cablecom, the communications company that used to provide my broadband internet and digital phone connections at the office as well as the TV connection at home in Bern until before I came to Oban. He was calling in response to an urgent text message stating I was without broadband access or telephone and desperately needed his assistance.
This left me rather flummoxed as I have not been with cablecom since I left Switzerland and have been rather well served with my wireless broadband access supplied by BT, thank you very much!
Rather put out and confused, I asked him again who he was, and he patiently explained again, this time at somewhat greater length.
The penny dropped: I had sent him a text message some -- wait for this -- fourteen months ago! At the time, all my connections suddenly went dead and I was left incommunicada for almost two days at a time when I was busy organising my international move as well as struggling to keep my head above the high-water mark of paid work.
The young man and I eventually managed to sort out what was going on. For all we know, this is a record for slow delivery of a text message!
PS: He no longer works for cablecom...

Oh goodness - what a shame it was not a call you would have liked to be woken up with.

Will ring over the weekend for a catchup, hope your cold has gone and you are feeling good.
