Hiya
It's been more than ten months already that I arrived here. Much still remains to be done about my "house", as people call their homes here, regardless of whether it's a mansion or a humble flat like mine. I've been distracted by outdoors activities and activities in the community: the Oban Bach Choir, the Oban Gaelic Choir, the garden, the Community Garden that is growing steadily at the bottom of "my" drying green, the gym, endeavours to make Oban a more sustainable place...
I've signed up for the MoonWalk in Edinburgh in June. It is a massively popular fundraising event to fight breast cancer and raise awareness of this insidious disease. Too many of my friends have already fallen victim to it! I have managed in just a few weeks to raise £120 sponsorship money for it. Thank you, everyone who has contributed -- I will walk for you all, too! And, of course, if you all want to give more, please do not hesitate.
There are days when Oban is simply the best place to live, when the sky is crystal clear and the sun has a strength that belies our northerly location.
