The "far north" has a bad rap among people living further south. Well, if the following images can't redress that imbalance a wee bit...
We've had a couple of glorious days here in Oban and on the West Coast. Freezing cold, though (and I understand road conditions up and down the coast have been rather hairy. As I try to live a car-free life, it has not affected me but some of my friends have had to deal with the aftermath of accidents -- luckily only in the form of delays, detours, missed appointments, meetings and such).

Pouring again over Habermas and his American critics, I felt a sudden need for a quick change of ideas (actually, I couldn't join our Reading Circle this evening because of my immense volume of university work, but that is what made me think of you). How are you? Do you still feel that you made a good decision by moving to Oban?
Big hugs, P.B.
I see from your website that you live in Oban - what a lovely part of the world, I have often visited the Isle of Mull and Lochgilphead, and I also make frequent trips to north east Scotland where my mother lives. I have also recently relocated - to rural Northumberland.

Thank you, P and C, for your comments. I'm always happy to receive feedback, especially when it's as positive as this.
I should get some funding from the Scottish Tourist Board for all the promo I'm doing... ;)
I hope you're happy in rural Northumberland, C! and may Habermas & Co give you much satisfaction, P.
