More experimental pix

Hi there

I attended a social function the other night, quite a to-do, in fact, it was the Bernese equivalent to the Oscars (they wouldn't like this comparison over yonder in California, but I don't care), awards handed out to people making good films, good documentaries, good music and good film music. One of my longest-standing clients was among the winners and invited me along. He's a 75-year-old musicologist of the highest calibre, so it was long-deserved and well-deserved.

I took this picture of him as he was getting ready to give a funny, interesting, heart-warming short talk about his favourite musician, the great composer and director, Pierre Boulez. The crowd laughed out loud when Theo H. told us that he had suggested bringing Boulez and his quartet or quintet to Bern back in 1961!!! Well, next month the long-awaited event will actually happen (and yes, I have a ticket) at Zentrum Paul Klee. Can't wait!

Here's my picture of Theo H. on stage -- great heads, no? I have so little practice taking flash photos with my digital camera, I keep moving away too soon.

One night in March 06, the snow fell steadily and silently. I used my oldest camera (the Olympus XA) and must have made a mistake when I inserted the roll of film. Interesting effects, though:

Maybe I realized something was amiss, because I grabbed my IXUS II camera to take this photo:

(Told you I grabbed the camera, didn't I? -- Mar. 06)

Recently I've discovered panoramic photography, with the help of Autostitch, a cool, fast piece of software (download from Autostitch site -- google will help you find it, I'm sure).
Here's one of the weirder results, a 'photo' of my freshly-painted office. Have fun! ;)
