Hi there
A friend suggested I make shorter posts because long posts don't seem to invite comments. Well, here we go.
I took these photos on September 19, a few days before the end of this bathing season at the Marzili. It was the day after massive rainfall: although some ten inches lower than the previous day, the river is still swollen, its waters turgid. Not very safe but as the above picture shows, there were a few hardy people who just couldn't resist taking a dip the in 16°C water.
As seasons go, this has not been my best: ill-health and absence followed by a really horrid August kept me from swimming in this amazing river more than maybe half a dozen times. And September was so busy with all kinds of activities (paid and voluntary) that I swam in the river exactly twice. The papers said it was the hottest, sunniest month of September in over 130 years -- if there is anyone out there still doubting global warming, they'd better have another think.
But now: roll on, autumn with your glorious colours and clear, sunny days!

Our Federal Parliament building is currently being refurbished, the parliament has moved to Flims, in the Grisons, for its autumn session (or 'sessiun' as they call it in token reverence to the Roumansh language spoken nearby).

I look forward to reading your comments. Peace!

Pictures look great. The river looks very different fom the last time I swam there. However, it still looks fantastic and is a wonderful thing to have flowing through the centre of a city.
